When Hiroshi Fujiwara, the head of the über-popular Japanese studio Fragment Design, is back in the lab with Jordan Brand, the sneaker world takes notice. Since their previous collaboration delivered an instant classic in the Fragment Air Jordan I, their latest partnership is all but guaranteed to result in an equally desirable product, especially given that their canvas of choice this time around is the legendary Air Jordan III.

The clean and straight-forward color blocking of the AJ III Fragment is a perfect example of Fujiwara’s design philosophy. He combines a crisp white upper with a stripe of smooth black leather wrapped around the entirety of the shoe. In addition to Fragment Design branded details (most notably found underneath the clear heel piece), the most striking feature of this Air Jordan III is that it is designed without any of the silhouette’s characteristic elephant print elements.
